Toast and Tea

Hello Lovely Teacup Friends

Welcome to

"Toast and Tea!"

Do you know how much I love pink roses and greenery?  (Pink tulips too)!

Well... two weeks ago newly retired hubby and I stopped at Goodwill and I found some new treasures.

Six pretty teacups.  They were $3.99 each.

Two of the six had a different shape but I think that makes the set more interesting.

They are stamped Duchess Fine Bone China
Made in England.

The Arthur Wood teapot was in the showcase and had  a similar pattern.  It was $12.99.

So a teapot and six teacups for $37.00.

Sweet sis gifted this dear Royal Albert cream and sugar set to me. It is called "Bridesmaid Roses."

Don't you love toast and tea?

With a little strawberry jam?

My dear friend, Kelly gave me with the gorgeous pink tulips when I became a grandmother last week.

Tulips make me so eager for spring.

Thank you for visiting today for

"Toast and Tea."

Happy Tea Day!

Karen

A Toile Tea

Welcome Terrific Tea Friends to

"A Toile Tea".

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!

I was so very fortunate to discover this toile  teapot about a year ago at Goodwill for $9.99.  The matching pitcher had unfortunately sold just before I arrived.

The handles on the teapot and teacup are very large.

A few weeks ago I spotted the matching teacup and tray at "Bargains Galore" in Mount Vernon.

I hesitated because the teacup was $8.99 and the tray was $6.99.

But you know our favourite line....."Get it or regret it!"  So that's what I did.

This toile pattern reminds me  of my German "Love Story" china.

Don't you find the romantic scenic vignettes
on Toile Transferware charming?

I recently found this Toile pillow at Marshal's.

As you know hubby just retired so we are off treasure hunting again today.  Soon we will be starting some retirement projects.

(The mantel, fireplace and kitchen at the cottage need a shabby chic makeover).  But for now we are having some fun.

Ya never know.  Maybe we'll just find the matching cream and sugar somewhere along our travels!

Thank you for your visit friends.

Enjoy your  treasure hunting days too!

Karen

A Miracle for Valentine's Day Tea!

Happy Valentine's Day Sweet Friends

Welcome to

"A Miracle for Valentine's Day Tea!"

This week was very special for my family.  My youngest son and his wife had their first baby.  A darling bundle and a miracle of pink joy!  A baby girl!

My mom would say she was a "Gift from God".  This is exactly how I feel about our tiny perfect addition to our family  She is indeed
a miracle and such a blessing.

I hope the precious babe will call me "Nana".

Sweet Lanny is the other grandmother.  She wants to be called "Oma".

I am sharing once again this beautiful Royal Albert china pattern that was gifted to me last Christmas from Lanny.   It is called "Cottage Garden".

Don't the pink and red  roses remind you of Valentine's Day?

Love the flowers on the inner cup.

I am so fortunate to share our beautiful grand daughter with lovely Lanny and her hubby.

The teapot today is Arthur Wood.

We must keep with our healthy theme so I have made a nutritious fruit salad for our tea today.

A dab of whip cream won't hurt us.

Thank you so much friends for your visit today!

Happy Valentine's Day!

See you next week!
